Objective and Focus

Because, the intersectionality of crime and sexual orientation is particularly fascinating, the prime objective of this blog is to discuss and research cases that focus on crimes committed by individuals or against individuals that identified as gay.

More specifically, I ask what maladaptive behaviors, ideas, and attitudes among gay men and gay culture increase the likely hood of victimization?

Does pornography depicting hardcore sadomasochism, drug use, and anonymous sex normalize violence and aggression?

To what extent do contemporary societal perceptions of homosexuality impact the reporting, investigating, and persecution of crimes committed against/by gay men?

Ronald Dominique

American serial killer and rapist that murdered approximately 23 men and boys  (1997-2006) in the state of Louisiana. Dominique's victims tended to be teenagers and men aged between 16 and 46, but not all of them were homosexual. Most of the victims were black males. He would often meet them during walks or drives in his pickup truck, as well as in gay bars, luring them with offers of alcohol, drugs, housing, or group sex with his alleged girlfriend. 

After successfully convincing potential victims, Dominique would lure them to his trailer where he would overpower them, bind them and subsequently rape them. 

According to the investigators, after he was finished having his way, Dominique strangled the victims, loading their bodies into the back of his truck and dumping them in remote rural areas in one of six nearby.
